Bayern Munich ‘monitoring’ outbound Liverpool star

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on the situation of a a soon-to-be former member of the midfield setup at Liverpool, according to reports.

The player in question? Fabinho.

The name of Brazilian international Fabinho has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside over the course of the last week.

This comes with Jurgen Klopp and co. ready to part with the one-time Reds standout, amid a big-money swoop on the part of Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad.

Negotiations are understood to be in full swing between the two clubs, with Fabinho himself having already agreed to link up with N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema in Jeddah.

It therefore may come as something of a surprise to hear of the aforementioned Bayern Munich seemingly entering themselves in the fray for the 29-year-old’s services.

Amid their own search for reinforcements in the middle of the park, Fabinho ‘fits the profile’ of what the powers that be at the Allianz Arena are seeking.

In the case of his move to Saudi Arabia falling through, Bayern could therefore swoop to pick up the pieces, adding the former Monaco man to Thomas Tuchel’s engine room ranks for next season.
