Barcelona starlet confirms he has rejected offer from Manchester City

One of Barcelona’s many young, up-and-coming talents has confirmed that he has rejected offers from two of Europe’s elite clubs.

That player is Nico Gonzalez who has spent his entire career to date at Barcelona.

The 20-year-old has become a mainstay for La Blaugrana this term, featuring 34 times for their senior side.

And after an impressive stint in Catalonia, it appears Nico caught the eye of both Manchester City and Real Madrid.

However, when speaking in a recent interview, the midfielder stated that he would love to stay at Barcelona for his entire career if the club would allow him:

“I have rejected offers from Real Madrid and Manchester City because I have always been from Barca,” Gonzalez said.

"If the club wants, I would love to stay in Barcelona all my life. It's my dream.”

Barcelona vs Sevilla

Barcelona’s next outing will see them face off with Sevilla this coming Sunday.

The game is a huge one for the Catalonian powerhouse and any small hope they still have of winning La Liga this term.

Barca head into the weekend’s action sat 3rd in La Liga, three points off Sevilla who sit 2nd and 12 points behind Real Madrid.

However, Barcelona do have a game in hand on both of those sides, so a win on Sunday and then a win in their game in hand would put Xavi and co. right in the title mix heading into the end of the campaign.
