Barcelona chief offers contract update on Manchester United & Chelsea-linked stars

Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste has recently spoken out about two of the club’s key men and their contract situations.

Said players are Gavi and Ronaldo Araujo, both of whom are out of contract in Catalonia in 2023.

The pair have been key figures for Barca this term and Xavi Hernandez is no doubt keen to keep them around as he continues his rebuild of the club.

When speaking about Gavi and Araujo’s contract situations, Rafa Yuste stated that he was optimistic: "We are working to the best of our abilities to keep Gavi and Araújo at the club.

“I am optimistic. The players are happy here. If Dembélé continues to feel comfortable, we can meet his agents and he could stay."

Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal & Liverpool eye Barcelona stars

Should Barcelona end up keeping both players at the Camp Nou beyond 2023, this would be a big blow for a number of Premier League sides.

As 101 have already covered, both Manchester United and Arsenal are said to have an interest in Araujo and reports coming out of Spain recently claimed the two sides had made contract proposals to the defender.

As for Gavi, he has been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea this year. Despite only being 17, the midfielder has featured 36 times for Barca this term, scoring two and assisting five whilst doing so.
