Barcelona blow as Bayern Munich on verge of double Ajax swoop

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are, according to reports, on the verge of clinching deals for not one, but two up-and-coming Ajax stars.

The players inching towards a move to Bavaria? Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui.

As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano late on Thursday evening, a meeting between key members of Bayern's board and super agent Mino Raiola took place earlier today, in Monaco.

This came with the former eyeing summer deals to take both youngsters to the Allianz Arena ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

And, evidently, the latest round of discussions between the parties proved productive, with it now assured that gifted full-back Mazraoui and midfield starlet Gravenberch are both 'really close' to linking up with Julian Nagelsmann's Bayern squad.

Barca and Juve miss out

Such news, whilst of course fantastic when it comes to the present and future alike in Bavaria, will be met with disappointment on the part of a number of other European heavyweights.

The most prominent come in the form of Barcelona, who are known to have had their sights set firmly on a free agent swoop for Mazraoui come the summer.

Gravenberch, meanwhile, is understood to have been on the priority list of Italian giants Juventus, amid the Bianconeri's ongoing efforts to rejuvenate the club's ranks in the middle of the park.
