Arsenal tipped to make late move for €50m player

Arsenal could make a late move for a big player this summer.

The player in question is Manchester City full-back, Joao Cancelo.

Cancelo’s Manchester City career seemingly came to an abrupt end in January when he was loaned out to Bayern Munich despite the fact City had very little natural cover at left-back for him.

However, City did not need it and have already won the Premier League and FA Cup, with the Champions League and treble just one game away.

Now, a summer move for the Portuguese has been touted, with both Arsenal and FC Barcelona linked in recent months.

Arsenal’s interest seems to have died down in recent weeks, but Dean Jones claims a move for the full-back could still happen:

“I think the defence will see an addition in. I still think that Cancelo is a possibility, and Barca are sniffing around that one too, but if that drags on and Cancelo is still available in a few weeks or a month’s time I could see that being an August deal that Arsenal do look to do. To put the icing on the cake, maybe another forward who could be an alternator for Saka, that’s basically what I’ve been told to look out for at this point,” Jones said.
