Mykhaylo Mudryk was of interest to Arsenal in the summer transfer window, with the Gunners eyeing reinforcements out wide following the loan of Nicola Pepe to Nice.

Arsenal currently have just Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as natural wide options, though Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Jesus can also operate on the flank if needed.

And after Arsenal could not land Mudryk in the summer, it looks as though the Gunners will not have to pay even more if they want to sign the winger.

This comes with it being reported that Arsenal have had their opening offer for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk rejected.

Their opening offer was believed to be in the region of £55m, although part of that amount was due to be paid in add-ons.

Fans should not give up hope of landing the forward, though, as Arsenal remain in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk and are expected to return with a fresh offer for Mudryk.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye of several other Premier League clubs, with Manchester City one of those who have scouted him.
