Arsenal have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt this weekend.
Brandt joined Dortmund in 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen, and has since endured a mixed stint in North Rhine-Westphalia.
In turn, as per the Mirror citing German outlet Bild, Arsenal have been handed a fresh chance to sign the former Jurgen Klopp favourite, with the midfielder expected to leave Dortmund this summer.
It is added that Marco Rose is preparing to overhaul his squad having seen his team crash out early in both the Champions League and DFB-Pokal, with a busy summer window expected at Signal Iduna Park, and Brandt no longer said to be part of BVB’s plans moving forward:

Despite Dortmund’s hopes of parting with Brandt, he has not had the worst 2021/22 campaign. In 28 league outings to date, the attacking midfielder has scored seven goals as well as assisting eight.

Brandt to Arsenal?
Given the fact that Brandt can play on the left, right and in his natural role as a central attacking midfielder, he would be able to provide cover for a number of players.
The German can also drop slightly deeper to play as a central midfielder, meaning he could, in theory, also partner someone like Thomas Partey or Granit Xhaka.
