Arsenal eye striker as alternative to Mykhailo Mudryk

Arsenal lost out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea last week.

The Gunners had been heavily linked with the winger and looked set to sign him before the close of the January transfer window.

However, Chelsea came in with a higher transfer offer and a much bigger contract for the Ukraine star.

Arsenal were then unwilling to match the Blues as it would have interfered with their transfer budget and wage structure.

Now though, the Gunners are left needing some fresh legs in their forward line if they are to keep up their title charge in the second half of the campaign.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, since losing out on Mudryk to rivals Chelsea, Arsenal have ramped up their interest in Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, who they were previously linked with before his Juventus switch.

Fabrizio Romano also provided an update on Arsenal’s search for alternatives:

“On Raphinha, I’m told he’d really love to stay at Barcelona as priority – we’ll see if it changes this week.”
