Antony’s expected debut, Ajax reveal final fee & Manchester United’s stance over further transfers

The details on Antony’s move to Manchester United.

Manchester United have completed the signing of Antony from Ajax, the club have confirmed.

After months of talks, the Red Devils have finally agreed a deal for the Brazilian.

He becomes United’s fifth summer signing and takes their spending to around £214 million.

Antony’s Manchester United debut?

Antony will not be available for selection against Leicester City on Thursday evening.

The deal is still subject to a medical, the player agreeing terms and international clearance.

The 22-year-old is instead expected to make his United debut against Arsenal, according to Ben Jacobs.

Old Trafford will therefore soon be able to get their first glimpse of the club’s third-most expensive signing.

Ajax confirm Antony to United fee

Ajax have confirmed that the deal will reach up to €100 million.

United have now given the Dutch club €167 million this summer for Antony and Lisandro Martínez.

The Premier League giants had several bids rejected over the course of the summer but they have finally got their man.

The club’s official statement reads: “Ajax have agreed a transfer fee of €95 million. Including add-ons, the fee could rise until €100 million.”

More United signings?

The BBC claim that Manchester United are not expected to make any new additions following deals for Antony and Martin Dúbravka.

Erik ten Hag’s side are looking to bring in the Newcastle United goalkeeper as back-up for David de Gea.

The 33-year-old is expected to join on a loan deal with a £5 million option to buy.
