Premier League outfit Newcastle United have, late on Monday, finally reached a full agreement with Watford over the signing of Joao Pedro.
The subject of potential reinforcements up top has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines at St. James’ Park to this point in the summer.
With Chris Wood having not exactly set the world alight since his January move to Tyneside, and Callum Wilson a constant injury concern, Eddie Howe and co. have come to the understandable conclusion that fresh blood is needed.
This comes after first-choice target Hugo Ekitike opted to reject Newcastle, in favour of linking up with French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The sights of the Magpies, in turn, had since turned towards the Championship.
And now, as alluded to above, it appears as though the powers that be at the club, finally, have struck gold.
The deal is understood to revolve around a base fixed fee in the region of £25 million, followed by bonuses of up to £5 million.
Watford have also secured a 10% sell-on fee as part of the agreement for their talented young Brazilian.
Pedro, for his part, has already agreed to the terms of a Newcastle contract, through the summer of 2028, meaning the transfer should be made official at some point within the next 48 hours.
