2nd Arsenal star agrees post-window exit

A 2nd member of the attacking ranks at Premier League outfit Arsenal has, on Thursday, has agreed to a departure from the club.

The player in question? Marcelo Flores.

For those not familiar with his name, Flores is a highly-regarded attacking midfielder/winger, who has been on the books at Arsenal since back in 2019.

Evidently not yet ready to contribute on a regular basis for Mikel Arteta’s first-team, the 19-year-old was farmed out on loan last season, linking up with Spanish 2nd division outfit Real Oviedo.

And, all told, Flores went on to notch a solid if unspectacular 15 appearances.

Since returning to base in north London, the youngster, already capped three times by Mexico, has linked back up with the Gunners’ U23s, featuring on a trio of occasions in the Premier League 2.

This comes amid confirmation that the midfielder has agreed to an Emirates departure.

As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:

‘Marcelo Flores leaves Arsenal as he’s set to join Tigres on permanent deal.’

The starlet is understood to have agreed to the terms of a four-year contract with Mexican outfit Tigres, leaving European football behind, at least for the time being.

This comes fresh off news of another Arsenal attacker, in the form of Nicolas Pepe, also preparing to bring his Gunners stint to a close.

Wide-man Pepe is all set to take his talents to Turkey, after rejecting a move to Saudi Arabia in favour of linking up with Trabzonspor on a permanent basis.
