Tottenham vs Bayern Munich betting tips: Champions League match preview & predictions

Tottenham vs Bayern Munich 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Tottenham 2-3 Bayern Munich

Tottenham Hotspur threw away a two-goal lead on matchday 1 against Olympiacos, putting them under pressure to deliver results at home.

Spurs’ start to the season has so far been a real rollercoaster of emotions with results and performances changing week to week.

Mauricio Pochettino side have some weeks gained results at the Etihad and blown away sides at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But other times, the north London club have suffered shock defeats to Newcastle United and Colchester United and surrendered two-goal leads.

They have been hugely unpredictable and knowing which Spurs side will turn up on Tuesday is tricky to tell.

Bayern Munich kicked off their Champions League campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over FK Crvena zvezda.

The German champions also lead the way in the Bundesliga this term, with finally Nico Kovac beginning to find his feet at the Allianz.

Champions League preview: Tottenham vs Bayern Munich

Judging by recent results and performances, Tottenham going down to 10-men meant they would have been fearing the worst.

But against Southampton, Spurs showed character to hold on to a crucial three points.

Pochettino will be both relieved and hopeful that the result was the turning point in their season, but they have been here before.

A win over Southampton does not mean Tottenham have changed, but it does lift the mood at the club ahead of a huge Champions League clash.

The pressure is now on Tottenham to secure a result against the German champions having been held to a 2-2 draw against Olympiacos in their opener.

The north Londoners came close to paying the price for starting slow in the group stage last season and they will not be hoping for a repeat.

Despite being top of the Bundesliga, Bayern have also had a mixed bag of results this season.

On the weekend, Bayern just edged past bottom club Paderborn in a closely contested 3-2 win away from home.

Phillipe Coutinho, who Spurs attempted to sign, looks to be settling in at Bayern and could be their danger man in north London.
