Tottenham's summer signing Yves Bissouma has been cleared of allegations of sexual assault following an incident in Brighton in October 2021, according to Mail Sport.

The then Brighton midfielder was arrested in the early hours of October 6th, 2021, along with another man, following an altercation in a nightclub.

However, when speaking to the Daily Mail, a spokesman for Sussex Police revealed that Bissouma had been released with no further action being taken, while the older man has had his bail extended.

'A man in his 40s from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has had his conditional bail extended until July 4, 2022.

'A man in his 20s, also from Brighton, who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released with no further action to be taken.

'The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.'

Bissouma's Tottenham move

Bissouma became Antonio Conte's third summer signing when he joined Tottenham for a minimum of £25m earlier in June, and is expected to be a key figure alongside Rodrigo Bentancur in the north London side's engine room as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next campaign.

Spurs are also expected to recruit further, with a deal for Richarlison being discussed and moves for a central defender and right wing-back in the works.
