Tottenham headed into the game sat 5th in the Premier League, two points behind Newcastle United.
Newcastle lost to Liverpool on Saturday, meaning a win for Spurs vs their London rivals would temporarily put them into the Champions League places, though Newcastle do have a game in hand.
However, Spurs kicked off in north London on the back of two defeats in a row – their last league outing saw them smashed 4-1 by Leicester City.
And with West Ham finally beginning to show signs of improvement in recent weeks, a tough match was expected for the Lilywhites.
At the time of writing, the score remains deadlocked at 0-0 with neither outfit having too much in the way of a big chance.
Jarrow Bowen fired an effort across the Tottenham goal early on and Spurs probably should have had a penalty in the first half after Thilo Kehrer handled the ball.

What is Richarlison? Is he a striker? Winger? Number 10? What?
For £60m he doesn’t really contribute a lot. #TOTWHU
