Tottenham handed boost in ongoing Pedro Porro chase

Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur have been afforded a timely boost in their active pursuit of Sporting CP star Pedro Porro.

Recent weeks have of course seen it widely speculated that Porro, formerly of Manchester City, has piqued the attentions of the powers that be at Spurs, owing to his starring displays in Portugal with Sporting CP.

This comes as Antonio Conte and co. continue to seek out reinforcements at right-wing back, amid the struggles of Emerson Royal and the forgotten Djed Spence.

The hopes of the Lilywhites faithful, though, had been dampened of late, amid claims in the media that not one, but two of European football’s heavyweights had joined the race for Porro’s signature.

The clubs in question? Chelsea and Barcelona.

Amid further suggestions that Daniel Levy and co. were unwilling to fork over the hefty sum required to land their key defensive target this month, the chances of Porro arriving in north London ahead of the 2nd half of the campaign, in turn, appeared to be lessening by the day.

Late on Thursday, though, at long last, all associated with Tottenham have been afforded a boost.

This comes in the form of an update on Porro’s alleged list of suitors.

The info comes courtesy of Portuguese outlet Record, who have assured that, in fact, neither Chelsea or Barcelona have identified the 23-year-old as a potential winter addition.

Spurs, as a result, appear to have a free run at Porro’s services.
