Thomas Tuchel has been speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea’s next outing.
The Blues will face off with Real Madrid in the second of two Champions League ties on Tuesday evening.
Chelsea got one over on Los Blancos en route to their 2021 Champions League triumph but had no such look in their first encounter this term.
Chelsea were smashed 3-1 at Stamford Bridge as Karim Benzema put on a striking masterclass.
So, it seems unlikely that Chelsea will be able to turn the tie around this week. And, when asked about a potential comeback on Monday, Tuchel said: “Not the biggest chance given the first game’s results and given the competition and the opponent and the stadium.
“We never manage our input by the chances we have for our result. It is unlikely but it is worth trying and trying means that we will play to our fullest and to our full limit. This is what it is, it is a big night.”

And it is not great for Chelsea ahead of the Madrid tie. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell remain out, leaving the west Londoners with very few quality options at wing-back.
Meanwhile, Cesar Azpilicueta has returned a negative covid test after missing out vs Southampton at the weekend. However, Romelu Lukaku will not travel to Madrid and Ross Barkley is sick:
“Callum Hudson-Odoi out, Ben Chilwell out, Romelu Lukaku will not travel, Azpilicueta has tested negative and is in the group. Ross Barkley is sick,” Tuchel stated.
