The Next Wilshere? Arsenal agree contract for ‘phenomenal’ youngster who is drawing rave reviews from coaches

The Gunners have moved fast to secure his future

Arsenal have agreed a new contract with talented youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly as they look to ensure that they keep hold of one of their most promising academy stars, according to reports.

Lewis-Skelly has starred for the U18s this season, and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to come out of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, an academy that has produced the likes of Bukayo Saka, Jack Wilshere and Ashley Cole.

A midfielder by trade, the 16-year-old has become known for his driving runs through midfield with the ball, and shows a maturity and composure well beyond his years, grabbing a goal and an assist in 4 appearances to date with the U18s.

And, having already been burned recently by losing talented winger Omari Hutchinson to Chelsea last summer, Arsenal have moved quickly to ensure that a repeat doesn’t occur in the case of Lewis-Skelly.

As per the Atheletic, the future of Myles-Skelly has ‘generated interest from prominent suitors as the end of his schoolboy terms approaches’, but ‘Arsenal have an agreement in place with the exciting Hale End graduate to sign scholarship forms’, which will keep him at the club for a further two years.

The youngster will be eligible for a professional contract in September, when he turns 17, and will likely be offered a significantly better deal than the one that he has been committed to for now.
