‘The new Werner’ – Chelsea fans continue to express concern over January arrival during Villa clash

Supporters of Premier League giants Chelsea have taken to social media in their numbers on Saturday, to make clear their concern with the ongoing struggles of one player.

The Blues, of course, are currently locked in action.

Fresh off a disappointing stalemate with Everton last time out, Graham Potter’s troops have welcomed Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge, eyeing a bounce-back result.

As things stand in west London, however, Chelsea, instead, are on track for defeat.

This comes with visitors Villa in possession of a one-goal advantage, owing to an Ollie Watkins opener inside 20 minutes:

Chelsea’s current deficit, however, has not come owing to a lack of trying on the part of the capital giants in the final third.

It was a fluffed chance on the part of another of the club’s stars, though, which gave rise to an altogether heavy backlash on the part of the Blues faithful across social media.

The player in question? Mykhailo Mudryk.

After the big-money January arrival at Stamford Bridge was set free one-on-one with Emi Martinez, he appeared to lose his cool, before directing a dismal finish straight into the waiting arms of the Aston Villa no. 1.

In turn, early comparisons with a one-time Chelsea flop have already begun to flood in, with just some of the Twitter highlights showcased below:
