The latest on Tyrick Mitchell injury ahead of Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Crystal Palace are facing a nervous wait to learn the extent of Tyrick Mitchell’s injury situation ahead of what is arguably their biggest game for many years.

This of course comes with Palace set to face Chelsea on Sunday the 17th of April in the semi-final of the FA Cup.

The Eagles have made it to the final four of the FA Cup for the first time since all the way back in 1995, after smashing Everton 4-0 in the quarter-finals last month.

And though Palace are certainly underdogs heading into the game, they will likely fancy their chances of getting a result as, this season, they have already beaten and drawn with Manchester City, before most recently hammering Arsenal 3-0.

However, they may have to face Chelsea without the services of a key defender, Tyrick Mitchell.

Mitchell has been a mainstay in Palace’s backline this term and his fine form even earned him an England call-up and debut during the March international break.

Unfortunately for Palace though, Mitchell had to be taken off at the weekend during the loss to Leicester City.

And now, the Evening Standard are reporting that Mitchell faces a nervous wait to discover whether he will be fit for the Chelsea match after suffering a calf injury vs the Foxes.

It is added that Mitchell is due to undergo scans on Monday to learn the extent of the issue.

Michael Olise also a doubt vs Chelsea

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace are still sweating over the fitness of Michael Olise ahead of the Chelsea game.

Olise has been a valuable member of the capital outfit’s side this term, especially in the FA Cup where he has scored two and assisted three in four appearances.

However, he missed the club’s 3-0 win over Arsenal and the loss to Leicester on Sunday after withdrawing from France’s under-21 squad due to inflammation in his left foot last month.
