The latest on Andy Robertson ahead of Arsenal vs Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Liverpool’s next outing.

Liverpool face off with Arsenal on Sunday at 4:30 pm UK time at the Emirates.

Ahead of the match, Klopp discussed a number of topics, including team news.

And it is good news for Andy Robertson who is back outside running, but does not look set to feature on Sunday: “Curtis Jones trained yesterday and looked good, just 1st session. Naby and Ox still a bit away [from returning]. Arthur is injured in last session before Rangers. Normal situation, a muscle. Robertson is running, looks close. Curtis is closest [to returning].”

Klopp also gave his verdict on Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus: “I always liked Gabriel Jesus as a player. Exceptional player, you always saw that at Man City. His role at City was a 9 or a winger, everyone said last season City had no No.9, but he was still there! Now he plays his role. He’s flying and full of confidence. Top class.”

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Liverpool have endured a mixed start to the season so far and currently sit 9th in the Premier League with two wins, four draws and one loss.

Their last league outing saw them scrape a 3-3 draw with Brighton, before beating Rangers 2-0 in the Champions League.

The Gunners have scored 20 and conceded eight, which is not too far off Liverpool’s 18 goals scored and nine conceded.
