Liverpool’s Adam Lallana is injured again
The Sun on Thursday morning have revealed more bad news for Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.
Lallana, who has struggled with injuries this season, is once again on the sidelines for Jurgen Klopp.
Will injuries derail Lallana’s 2018 World Cup dreams? That’s the fear, as the attacking midfielder will agin have to miss the next England get-together.
Gareth Southgate is poised to announce his next England squad ahead of international friendlies against Holland and Italy.
How long is Adam Lallana out for?
Lallana’s latest setback isn’t expected to be for too long, but the timing stinks:
The Liverpool midfielder, 29, has suffered a set-back on his comeback from a thigh injury and will miss two-and-a-half weeks.
The ex-Southampton star returned from the treatment table in November and was eased back to action before his first start of the campaign on New Year’s Day.
But he has suffered the problem after coming on for 28 minutes at the weekend trying to rescue Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Liverpool vs Watford
Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday when Watford visit Anfield.
Last time out the Reds were beaten 2-1 at Man United as they slipped to fourth in the division.
Liverpool are four points clear of Chelsea in the race for a top four finish.
Watford were beaten 3-0 at Arsenal last weekend, while the Hornets away record is terrible right now. Watford have lost six of their last seven matches on the road.
It’s also worth remembering that Watford held Liverpool to a memorable 3-3 draw at the start of the season.
Liverpool will be confident of a home win this Saturday.
