Manchester United lost Christian Eriksen to injury earlier this week, forcing them to dip into the market for a new central midfielder.
However, with Eriksen out until April, Manchester United, who are currently playing a game every three days, run the risk of losing another top star to injury.
Casemiro has been a revelation for United since his arrival from Real Madrid over the summer, but playing him every game at his age could also lead to the Brazilian being sidelined for an extended period.
This is something Casemiro has been discussing recently, whilst also suggesting he wants more cover for the South American:
βHeβs important but in top football thereβs a risk and we know that,β Ten Hag said of Casemiro. βWe know players get injured and you canβt avoid it. Of course, if you want to be successful in the season you need your key players on board and thatβs definitely the truth.
βI think itβs not possible to have two Casemiros or two Christian Eriksens. I think in that part we can be a bit deeper but also I think we said before the season that we want to restore Man United but it will take time. It will take seasons to get back the days when you can compete for everything and for the highest trophies in the world.
βCasemiro at Real Madrid, I think also there he played so many games.β
