‘Soft in some departments’: Pep Guardiola unhappy with Manchester City after Crystal Palace

Pep Guardiola was not happy with Manchester City after their clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

City met the Eagles at 3 pm on Saturday. On paper it was the Sky Blues who were clear favourites for the win. But Man City have struggled against Palace in the past and that proved to be the case once again in gameweek 4.

It took the away side just four minutes to open the scoring thanks to a John Stones own goal.

Joachim Andersen then fired Palace into a 2-0 lead after only 21 minutes.

However, Manchester City, in large due to the clinical nature of Erling Haaland, completed a miraculous second-half comeback.

Bernardo Silva, who now looks set to stay in Manchester this summer, pulled the first goal back 53 minutes in.

Erling Haaland then went on to score his first-ever hat-trick for his new club.

Speaking to the BBC, Guardiola said: “The last two games have had a lot of goals and a lot of goals conceded. It was a good game. We have always struggled against them but we came back.

“In the previous seasons we didn’t have it but now we are starting to do it. It is a good lesson for us what happened in the first half but now it is a good game. We have to improve. We are soft in some departments.”
