‘So quiet’: Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji aims dig at Anfield atmosphere

Manuel Akanji has been speaking about the atmosphere at Anfield following Manchester City’s loss their last week.

Liverpool faced off with Manchester City last weekend in a Premier League clash.

With the Reds down in 10th and Manchester City undefeated, an easy win for Pep Guardiola and co. was predicted.

However, when all was said and done at Anfield, Liverpool came away with a 1-0 win thanks to Mohamed Salah.

It was also the first game this season that Erling Haaland did not manage a single goal contribution.

Following the game, Manuel Akanji has taken a dig at the famous Anfield atmosphere:

“Before the game, when we walked in for our warm up, it was so quiet,” the defender said. “No booing or anything. I told Erling Haaland I thought it was weird. I expected it would be really crowded, really loud and the mood against us. But I felt nothing.
