Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has, on Sunday, provided his take on the ongoing speculation linking Sevilla's Jules Kounde with the club.

French international Kounde, of course, has been hotly tipped to make the move to the Camp Nou ahead of next season.

Amid the ongoing efforts of those in a position of power in Catalunya to sufficiently reinforce Xavi Hernandez's squad, the 23-year-old has been identified as a prime target.

This comes despite Kounde having been widely expected to make the move to England with Chelsea this summer, on the back of a year-long pursuit on the part of the Blues.

And now, as alluded to above, one member of the current defensive core plying their trade in Barcelona has opened up on what he feels Sevilla's stalwart could add to an ever-improving crop of stoppers at the club.

The player in question? Ronald Araujo.

Should Kounde ultimately go on to seal a move to Catalunya, Araujo, of course, would be one of those in line to see his first-choice status come under threat.

This comes with Andreas Christensen having too linked up with Xavi's troops this summer, adding further to the options of Gerard Pique and Eric Garcia.

If the latest comments on the part of the Uruguayan are anything to go by, however, then it appears to be a case of the more, the merrier.

This comes with Araujo having reiterated his stance that adding further quality is 'always a positive thing', with Kounde possessing such ability in spades:
