Revealed: The two positions Arsenal are STILL looking to strengthen this summer

The Gunners are not finished in the transfer market

Arsenal are still looking to sign another midfielder and a forward before the transfer window ends, but their future additions will depend on sales.

The Gunners have agreed to splash out an impressive £200m this summer, with the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea (£65m) followed by the impending arrivals of Jurrien Timber (£35m) and Declan Rice (£105m), both of whom have undergone their medicals in north London.

Now, attentions have turned to sales, with Granit Xhaka having already joined Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth 25m euros (£21.5m), and the Swiss international expected to be the first of plenty out of the door in north London.

All of Nuno Tavares, Runar Alex Runnarsson, Nicolas Pepe, Sambi Lokonga, Kieran Tierney, Folarin Balogun and Rob Holding are likely to leave the club too in yet another clearout by Mikel Arteta this summer.

After that, should they raise enough funds from sales, they will look to head back into the transfer market, and they have two spots in mind.

According to Sky Sports, they remain after a right-sided forward who can provide cover and competition to poster boy Bukayo Saka, with the Englishman having started 37 of Arsenal’s 38 Premier League games last season and likely to play even more next year with the Champions League returning to the Emirates Stadium after a six year drought.

With three signings already in the bag, the Gunners are in their strongest position for a long time, but work will still be done to try and improve the squad right up until deadline day.
