Revealed: The two Pochettino alternatives Tottenham are looking at to replace Antonio Conte

An insight into Tottenham's plans to replace Antonio Conte, should he leave this summer, has been provided.

Conte took charge of Spurs following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this campaign.

The Italian had a rough start to life in north London but, up until the club's two most recent outings, appeared to have gotten his side firing on all cylinders.

The Lilywhites dispatched the likes of Leeds United, Newcastle United and Everton by impressive scorelines, moving into the top-four in the process.

However, whilst Conte has done a decent job overall at Spurs, it is clear that there is still much work to be done.

This was evidenced in the club's last two league games, which saw them lose to Brighton and draw with Brentford. Across these matches, Spurs did not manage a single shot on target in 180 minutes.

In turn, ahead of the summer, Conte’s future has been called into doubt amid links to French outfit, PSG.

Tottenham eye Pochettino alternatives

The Telegraph report that Conte is on PSG’s list of targets to replace Mauricio Pochettino, though there has been no direct contact between the two parties.

It is added that Conte is concentrating on finishing the season as strongly as possible with Spurs, before then holding talks with chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

Should Conte then decide to leave the north Londoners, Italy boss Roberto Mancini and Brighton’s Graham Potter are named as two alternative avenues to the potential return of Pochettino.
