An insight into why Erling Haaland opted to sign for Manchester City this summer has been provided.
The news that Manchester City fans were hoping for and the rest of the Premier League was dreading arrived on Tuesday.
Manchester City confirmed that they had reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Haaland.
In a statement, they said: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022. The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.”

Why Haaland chose Manchester City
But why did Haaland opt to sign for Manchester City? After all, the likes of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were also said to have been keen on the hitman.
Well, an insight into the striker’s decision has been provided following City’s official announcement, with it revealed that there were two major factors behind Haaland opting for Man City.
These were his life-long connection to Manchester City as well as a chance to work with and alongside the likes of Pep Guardiola, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.
