Manchester United’s no.1 right-back this season has been Diogo Dalot.
The Portuguese has impressed under Erik ten Hag and can currently stake a claim for the best right-back in the Premier League.
His back-up, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, is still at Old Trafford, but it did look as though he had fallen out of favour and was set to leave the club in January.
However, following the Premier League’s return, Wan-Bissaka has stepped up an impressed in a number of games for United as they continue to fight for a top-four finish.
Now, ahead of Arsenal, Ten Hag has explained why the right-back has improved so much:
“He’s picking up the coaching. He’s making good progress from the start of the season,” Ten Hag explained at a press conference. “He was in a bad situation because he was not fit. He had a lot of injuries, a couple of injuries until November. Things changed during the break. He worked hard in pre-season, in the training camp. Some good performances in the games. He is making good progress.”
The 25-year-old will be hoping to get the nod once again for Sunday’s blockbuster Premier League fixture, which sees United travel to league leaders Arsenal as Diogo Dalot is still a fitness concern.
