An update on the wellbeing of sidelined Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele has been provided late on Thursday evening.
French international Dembele, of course, set alarm bells ringing in Catalunya’s capital late last month.
This came upon the former Borussia Dortmund standout – in the midst of a stellar stretch of individual form – being forced into a premature departure from the club’s La Liga meeting with Girona.
En route to a 1-0 Blaugrana win, Dembele pulled up with a muscular problem inside the half-hour mark.

Ensuing tests went on to reveal that the 25-year-old had suffered a ‘strained rectus femoris muscle in his left thigh’.
One major omission from Barca’s medical update on their explosive winger, however, came in the form of an insight into the likely extent of his ongoing spell out of action.
The info comes courtesy of Javi Miguel of Spanish outlet Diario AS, who points towards Dembele being in line for another five weeks of inactivity.
The Frenchman’s planned return date, though, is an altogether considerable one, with Xavi Hernandez and co. understood to have pencilled in a Clasico showdown with Real Madrid on March 19th as a realistic target.
Everything indicates that Dembélé will return on March 19 for the match against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. His recovery is already underway.
