Liverpool’s form has fallen off a cliff in 2022/23. The Reds sit 9th in the league after 21 games and are very unlikely to secure a top-four spot.
One of Liverpool’s main issues this term has been their defence. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been in especially bad form, whilst the Reds as a squad are leaking goals – including three to a Wolves side who had scored just 12 in 20 before their recent meeting with Liverpool.
Liverpool have shipped 28 goals in 2022/23 so far, which is already more than they let in during the entirety of 2021/22 (26).
This has led to speculation over the future of Jurgen Klopp, who also saw his Borussia Dortmund stint collapse around this time as well.
Despite this, it seems as though Chelsea would be open to signing Klopp should he become available.
Speaking about the potential of Klopp joining the Blues in the near future, journalist Simon Phillips hinted it’s a move the Chelsea hierarchy would jump all over.
