Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick would hold his pre-Manchester City press conference on Friday afternoon.
The Red Devils will of course take on cross-town rivals City at 4:30 pm UK time on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, Rangnick discussed a number of topics in his presser, including the prospect of becoming Manchester United’s permanent manager.
But when asked about taking the job on a full-time basis, the German remained rather coy, stating: “I have no idea. I haven't made any thoughts about that because my focus is on Sunday and then on Tottenham and Atletico. There is no time for me to think about that.”
Rangnick would also provide an update on the wellbeing of Edinson Cavani: “It looks good. He has been in training. He could be part of the group on Sunday. We will have to see what happens tomorrow or Sunday. But, as things stand, he should be part of the group.”
Manchester City vs Manchester United
Manchester United will head into this weekend's derby in desperate need of a win to maintain their spot in 4th place.
It is Manchester City who are favourites ahead of the clash, though, with the Sky Blues currently sitting top of the Premier League with the best defensive record and second-best attack.
However, City are no doubt well aware that they cannot drop any points with Liverpool breathing down their necks.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have won just two of their last five, and are in danger of slipping out of the top-four.
At present, the Red Devils are occupying 4th in the league. However, their chances of catching Chelsea look to be slim, with United three points behind having played two more games than the Blues.
Below them, West Ham are only two points behind after the same number of games played, whilst Arsenal are also two points off but with three games in hand.
Tottenham can also catch Manchester United if they win their games in hand, suggesting it is unlikely that Rangnick's men will remain 4th for too long.
