‘Putting the club on his back’ – Manchester United star singled out for praise against Brentford
Man United lacking inspiration
Manchester United continued their lacklustre Premier League form in the first-half of their clash with Brentford at the Community Stadium.

The Red Devils, coming into the game with just one point from their last two games, were second best for much of the first 45 minutes, with Brentford very unlucky not to go into the break ahead.
However, with the second-half to come, a win and three much-needed points are still a possibility for Ralf Rangnick and co.
Man United fans react to De Gea performance
And now, Manchester United fans have taken to social media in their droves to make their appreciation for their no.1 clear after another fine first-half, which kept his side in the affair.
Safe to say, they didn’t hold back:
De Gea putting this club on his back this season❤️

— David Gannon (@Gannon134) January 19, 2022
Manchester United have been thoroughly rotten but, thanks to David De Gea & Brentford’s failure to take their chances, they are somehow still in this game. Awful from them so far.
— Phil McNulty (@philmcnulty) January 19, 2022
We’d actually be in the relegation zone without De Gea this season. Unbelievable goalkeeper
