'Put him in the reserves' - Chelsea fans slam one man in first half of Real Madrid clash

Chelsea's fans have singled out one man for criticism during their clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter final first leg.

The Blues are looking to retain their European trophy won in Portugal last campaign, but are already staring at potential defeat as they head into the halfway point of their Champions League tie 2-1 down at Stamford Bridge.

Karim Benzema gave his side the lead with a gorgeous header after being picked out by Vinicius Junior, before netting an equally sumptuous goal just seconds later, Luka Modric this time the provider.

Chelsea looked dead and buried, but Kai Havertz handed them a lifeline heading into halftime, nodding a delicious cross past Thibaut Courtois to halve the deficit.

The Blues faithful, however, have now singled out one man for criticism.

Chelsea fans single out Christensen for criticism

The player in question is Barcelona-bound defender Andreas Christensen, who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer and struggled massively against the pace of Vinicius Junior in the first half.

Chelsea's fans were therefore quick to turn on the Dane as the Blues found themselves staring down the barrel of a Champions League exit just a quarter of the way through the tie.
