PSG’s Mega Summer to Replace Mbappé: Osimhen, Leão, Kvaratskhelia and Bernardo Silva

Many names have been floating around the rumour mill about who PSG could bring in to replace Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe

The news that Kylian Mbappe will leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer has now officially been confirmed, and the Ligue 1 side is on the lookout for his replacement.

Getting a like-for-like replacement for the French superstar that is Mbappe, is no easy task, an impossible one at that.

Many names have been floating around the rumour mill about who PSG could bring in, and below, we will take a look at just some of the names in circulation since the striker’s announcement.

Victor Osimhen – Napoli

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been linked with replacing Mbappe since this whole saga began.

In what looks set to be his final season with the Italian side, questions surround his future and where he will go next.

The Nigerian international has played an integral part in securing Napoli’s first league title in 33 years and last season scored 26 goals in 32 matches.

With all the traits of a modern number 9, the 25-year-old would be the ideal addition if Luis Enrique is after the best out-and-out goalscorer as a replacement.

Rafael Leão – AC Milan

Rafael Leāo is a more logical replacement for Mbappe, playing in a similar role for AC Milan.

While the pair share similar traits, Leao is not quite the player of the French superstar. He has never scored more than 20 goals in a season, but at just 24, there is plenty of time for this to change.

However, the Portuguese is a great ball carrier with no fear to take on any man and thrive with space to run into. We will be interested to see how this rumour progresses.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – Napoli

Several reports in Italy have made claims that Napoli could lose another key player to PSG, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia being a part of the rumours.

Kvaratskhelia is now labelled as the ‘chosen one’ to replace Mbappe in the summer transfer window.

The talented winger has reportedly already been in talks with Enrique and his team and is said to be the perfect candidate to fill in on the left wing.

Bernando Silva – Manchester City

Could Pep Guardiola lose one of his key players to PSG with the Ligue 1 outlet keeping a close, watchful eye on Bernardo Silva?

It may be the case as the role the City midfielder plays may be more suited to the French champions than an outright number 9.

The 29-year-old is known for his incredible creativity and the technical skill he brings to the pitch.

Silva has previous experience of playing alongside Mbappe at Monaco and has expressed an interest in leaving the Premier League champions.
