Match report
A one-sided affair at Deepdale on Saturday evening ultimately culminated in Tottenham Hotspur booking their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the expense of Championship outfit Preston North End.
The Lilywhites’ hero on the day? Son Heung-min.
Amid efforts to afford talismanic hitman Harry Kane some much-needed rest, Antonio Conte opted for a new-look front three of Dejan Kulusevski, Ivan Perisic and the aforementioned Son.
And, early in the 2nd-half, it was a moment of magic on the part of the latter which broke the deadlock at Deepdale.
After being picked out 25 yards from goal, Son showcased absolutely no hesitation in bending a sumptuous left-footed effort into the far corner of the hosts’ net:

Then, 20 minutes from time, Spurs’ South Korean standout was back at it once again.

And there was still time for a member of the Tottenham substitute brigade to put the finishing touches on what proved to be a fine evening’s work for Conte’s side on Saturday.
Afforded his Lilywhites debut after sealing a loan switch to north London earlier this week, Arnaut Danjuma wasted little time in making his presence felt, rewarded for a solid cameo off the bench upon Dejan Kulusevski pulling back for a simple rolled finish beyond the helpless Freddie Woodman.

This, in turn, is how things remained through the full-time whistle, as Spurs marched on to the FA Cup’s fifth round in dominant fashion.

Fan reaction & key stats
Another poor first half, gotta feel for the away support. Sess particularly bad but no one is safe from fault. Just poor all around. Hopefully get to see Kane and Danjuma in the second half

Was Sergio Reguilon really that bad?

Stunning goal from Son. Takes aim from range left-footed and bonks a beauty into the corner. No celebration, just stands and admires his handiwork.

Son Heung-Min has now scored 138 goals for Tottenham Hotspur. Only 7 players in the history of the club have scored more.

Two classic Son finishes this evening. So precise and elegant. It’s like this season never happened.

Fanbase is gonna pretend son is back now because he scored goals against a championship side
Fanbase loves the bare minimum

Great Son nice to see AD, and I think Tanganga is the best replacement for Romero, good performance. Maybe Gil should have played more than 8 mins 🤷🏿♂️

Danjuma has looked pretty tidy technically and great to see a debut goal, even if it is against inferior opposition who are already beaten. #thfc #coys
