An altogether bizarre incident centering on Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Paul Pogba has piqued widespread attentions online on Saturday afternoon.

Ralf Rangnick's troops are of course currently locked in action at Old Trafford.

On the back of a concerning defeat at the hands of Everton last time out, the Red Devils welcomed Premier League basement dwellers Norwich City to Manchester, in the knowledge that nothing but a three-point haul would suffice.

And, inside the game's closing ten minutes, a return to winning ways is precisely what the hosts look headed towards.

This comes owing to a hat-trick on the part of the irrepressible Cristiano Ronaldo guiding United to a 3-2 advantage, after Norwich had managed to battle their way back to parity courtesy of strikes from Kieran Dowell and Teemu Pukki.

As alluded to above, though, amid the chaos at Old Trafford on Saturday, it is a moment involving two other members of Ralf Rangnick's ranks which has in fact emerged as a major talking point, for altogether less positive reasons.

The incident in question was forthcoming on the hour mark in proceedings.

As a Manchester United corner was swung unto the Norwich penalty area, Harry Maguire went to ground amid pushing and pulling.

And, bizarrely, in the process, the under-fire English international managed to leave teammate Paul Pogba downed and in need of medical treatment.

This came as Maguire's swinging head-high boot connected with the face of his fellow Red Devils star, with a photograph highlighting the moment in question showcased below:
