Photos of the war wounds suffered by Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo during the club's meeting with Everton on Saturday have come to the fore online.
Ronaldo, of course, was back in action a short time ago, as part of the day's early Premier League kick-off at Goodison Park.
The Portuguese icon, on the back of a brief spell on the sidelines owing to illness, slotted straight back into his centre-forward berth, as United went in desperate search of a bounce-back three points.
When all was said and done, however, another miserable day's work for all associated with the club saw the Red Devils put to the sword by a goal to nil.
Anthony Gordon proved the difference-maker, as the Everton wide-man's shot from distance inside the half-hour mark deflected off Harry Maguire, leaving David de Gea wrong-footed before nestling in the visitors' net;

As alluded to above, though, the woes of the aforementioned Ronaldo did not end solely with the eventual result on Merseyside on Saturday.
This comes with Everton's defenders having added insult to injury (or rather injury to insult) in leaving Man United's main man with not one, but two nasty gashes on the inside of his left leg.
A photo of the cuts in question can be seen below, with Ronaldo looking set for a painful evening not only from an emotional standpoint, but a physical one, too...
