Pep Guardiola explains the advantage Arsenal hold over Manchester City in title race

Pep Guardiola believes Arsenal hold an advantage over Manchester City in title race

The apprentice is looking to become the master in the race for the Premier League title this season as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal hope to dethrone Pep Guardiola and Manchester City as champions.

The Gunners currently lead the division by eight points although City have a game in hand and a chance to reduce the gap to five this evening.

Ahead of City’s trip to Chelsea, Guardiola has explained why Arsenal hold an advantage over his team in the race for the title.

Guardiola explains Arsenal’s title race advantage

Guardiola believes that there is pressure and expectancy on Manchester City to be leading the title race.

But with Arsenal being so consistent, the Spaniard claims that is much easier said than done.

The Gunners are not necessarily expected to win the title, according to Pep, but he does believe that is a very real possibility.

Guardiola admitted: “The advantage of Arsenal and Manchester United right now is nobody has to win the Premier League for 20 points ahead in November like Manchester City has to - and this is sometimes a big problem.

“People say, ‘Ah, yes, you are...’ Yes, we are, but with Arsenal winning all their games and you are seven or eight points behind... it [Arsenal winning the title] can happen.”
