Nottingham Forest team news and predicted XI vs Leeds United

The latest from the midlands ahead of a relegation six-pointer

Steve Cooper’s side can lay down a significant marker with a win against fellow strugglers Leeds United at Elland Road this week, as they look to pull themselves away from the relegation zone.

Without a win in six, they were denied all three points against Wolves thanks to a late Daniel Podence goal, leaving both sides inching away from the relegation zone but still firmly in the running for relegation.

Victory for either Forest or Leeds in this clash would take them up to 13th, making it a real relegation six pointer and a massive game for both sides, with the loser left hovering narrowly above the drop zone, either 17th in the case of the home side or 16th in the case of Forest.

Here’s how we expect the Garibaldi’s to line up against Leeds, and the latest team news from Cooper’s camp.

Predicted XI

Team News

Willy Boly, Omar Richards, Ryan Yates, Guilian Biancone, Dean Henderson, Emmanuel Dennis and Wayne Hennessey are all still sidelined for Steve Cooper’s side, while Chris Wood will miss the remainder of the season through injury sustained in the international break.

Additionally, all of Andre Ayew, full-back Serge Aurier and midfielder Gustavo Scarpa are considered doubts for their clash, with none having featured since the international break.

In better news, however, both Taiyo Awoniyi and Cheikhou Kouyate are back in training having been absent for all of 2023 so far, with Awoniyi having been a late substitute against Wolves over the weekend.

Gibbs-White is likely to continue to lead the line despite the Nigerian’s return, with Brennan Johnson and Emmanuel Dennis flanking him at Wolves and potentially set to do so again as Awoniyi builds his match fitness back up.
