North London Derby footage showcases Granit Xhaka’s unheralded leadership qualities

The Swiss international was in top form throughout the 90 minutes in England’s capital

Footage centering on a key member of the midfield setup at Premier League giants Arsenal has turned heads across social media on Saturday evening.

The player in question? Granit Xhaka.

Mikel Arteta’s troops, of course, were back in action earlier today.

In their return to action on the back of what felt a lengthy international break, the Gunners welcomed fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the Emirates, aware that a fresh North London Derby triumph would guide them a full four points clear at the Premier League’s summit.

And, when all was said and done, march on to a deserved three points is precisely what the afternoon’s hosts managed.

After Harry Kane’s first-half penalty cancelled out Thomas Partey’s early opener, strikes on the part of both Gabriel Jesus and the aforementioned Xhaka ensured that it was Arsenal who emerged on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline.

As alluded to above, though, it is not Xhaka’s result-clinching strike which has in fact seen the rejuvenated midfielder’s name take its place centre stage online in the aftermath of Arsenal’s latest victory.

Instead, the Swiss has been hailed for his ever-improving leadership qualities.

This comes after footage surfaced online, showcasing Xhaka’s efforts in regrouping and refocusing his teammates on the back of their North London Derby opener:
