Neymar matched a Zlatan Ibrahimovic record as Barca thrashed Celtic

Neymar & Zlatan Ibrahimovic

It was a magical night in the Camp Nou on Tuesday.

FC Barcelona bounced back from their shock 2-1 home defeat to Alaves in la Liga with a stunning display against Celtic in the Champions League.

The Catalans put seven goals past the Scots in a one-sided whitewash.

Celtic had the chance to level the match at 1-1, but Moussa Dembele, who scored a hat-trick against Rangers last weekend in the league, saw his spot-kick saved by Marc Andre Ter Stegen.

Having blown that chance, Celtic watched on as Leo Messi scored his 40th hat-trick for Barcelona in all competitions.

However Messi wasn’t the only star performer, as Neymar matched a Zlatan Ibrahimovic record.

Neymar makes history

Against Celtic, Neymar became the first player to register four assists in a single Champions League game since man United striker Ibrahimovic.

Moreover, the Brazilian forward became the first player in the history of the Champions League to score once and grab four assists in the same game.
