Eddie Howe and Newcastle United are looking to continue their push for a top 4 spot as they travel to Nottingham Forest on Friday night, with a win taking them to within a point of Tottenham ahead of the weekend’s action.
Having fallen away somewhat in recent weeks, the Magpies got back to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Wolves, moving them four points behind Tottenham in fourth, but with two games in hand on the north London side.
Should they manage to navigate their way through those undefeated, they will head joint-fourth with Antonio Conte’s side, and they even have the possibility of catching Manchester United, who sit six points clear of the Magpies in third but with a much inferior goal difference.
