Newcastle played six Premier League matches during the month of October.

The Magpies began by beating Fulham 4-1 on October 1, before then putting five past Brentford a week later.

The North East outfit were then held to a 0-0 draw by Manchester United before seeing off Everton and Tottenham.

Newcastle rounded the month out by smashing Aston Villa 4-0.

As a result, Newcastle duo Eddie Howe and Miguel Almiron have picked up Premier League awards.

Howe won the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October.

Miguel Almiron, meanwhile, has won the October EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.

The Newcastle winger becomes only the second Paraguayan to claim the prize, after Roque Santa Cruz while at Blackburn Rovers in 2007.

Almiron scored in five of his six matches for Newcastle, netting a joint-league high six goals in October.

“I’m really, really happy at receiving this award,” Almiron told NUFC TV.

“It’s lovely on a personal note and a very nice moment for me to win something like this as a player, but it’s all about the team.”

The 28-year-old topped an eight-man shortlist that also included Kepa Arrizabalaga, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Guimaraes, Erling Haaland, Kieran Trippier, Leandro Trossard and Granit Xhaka.
