Mohamed Salah breaks Liverpool record during Real Madrid clash

Liverpool and Real Madrid are currently locked in Champions League action.

Liverpool headed into the game having won back-to-back league games for the first time in a while.

The Reds also kept two clean sheets in a row, which has been a rarity this term.

However, whilst Real Madrid are not at their best domestically this year, they remain a great force in Europe.

As a result, a tough match was expected at Anfield. And at the time of writing, Liverpool are leading 2-1.

Liverpool took an early lead in the tie after building out from the back before Mohamed Salah received the ball and crossed to Darwin Nunez, who scored a brilliant flicked goal.

Liverpool continued to pile pressure on Los Blancos in the early stages of the match and were able to add a second goal after just 15 minutes.

After scoring said goal, Mohamed Salah is now Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorer in European competitions with 42 goals, surpassing the previous record of 41 held by Steven Gerrard.
