Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi has confirmed a major shake-up to his squad, on the eve of the latest highly-anticipated Milan Derby.
The Nerazzurri, of course, are currently in the midst of final preparations for a showdown with their fiercest rivals, set to play out at San Siro on Sunday evening.
The clash will see Inter attempt to add to the woes of their Milanese neighbours, amid an alarming dip in form on champions Milan’s part over the course of recent weeks.
Speaking to the media ahead of the matchup, Simone Inzaghi, in turn, was drawn on the latest news on his squad.
And one element of the Italian tactician’s ensuing response has since grabbed widespread headlines.
This comes with Inzaghi having confirmed that Inter captain Milan Skriniar has been stripped of his skipper duties at San Siro.
For those not aware, this comes with it having this week been widely confirmed that Skriniar is primed to take his talents to France, to link up with Paris Saint-Germain upon the conclusion of his contract in the summer.
His manager, in turn, had the following to say regarding the Slovakian’s role in his squad this afternoon:
“He’ll probably play tomorrow, but he won’t be the captain of Inter anymore. The boy and the club talked about it calmly. The captain is (Samir) Handanovic.”
