Mikel Arteta reveals reason behind Arsenal’s current form

Mikel Arteta has been discussing the reason behind Arsenal’s recent upturn in form.

The Gunners had a simply woeful start to the season which saw them lose three league games on the bounce by a scoreline of 9-0.

However, since then, especially in 2022, Arsenal have looked a much, much better side.

The north Londoners are undefeated in the Premier League since January 1st and are now 4th in the division with three games in hand on the three teams below them.

So, what is going right for Arsenal? Well, when asked what the reason for Arsenal’s improved form is in his pre-Liverpool press conference on Tuesday, Arteta stated:

“We are playing better, we have an understanding of what we want. We have the right level of confidence, belief and understanding with each other and everything clicks better and quicker.”

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal must now turn their attentions towards Liverpool.

The Gunners will face off with Jurgen Klopp’s side at 8:15 pm on Wednesday in a Premier League clash.

The match is one of Arsenal’s games in hand they have on Manchester United, West Ham, Wolves and Chelsea – meaning a win would greatly boost their chances of securing a top-four spot this season.

However, Liverpool are currently the league’s in-form side and will no doubt be a tough nut to crack.

It will be an especially big test for Arsenal as, whilst their form has improved, the Gunners still have an awful record against the top teams this campaign.

Arsenal have lost to Manchester City twice, Chelsea once, Liverpool once and Manchester United once, with their only win against a ‘top-six’ team in 2021/22 coming against Tottenham.
