Mikel Arteta provides positive Arsenal injury update ahead of Leicester

Mikel Arteta spoke to the media on Friday ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming clash.

Arsenal face off with Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City at 3 pm UK this coming Saturday.

Ahead of the tie, Mikel Arteta discussed a number of topics in his press conference, including team news.

Arteta confirmed that Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu re back in training and some of them will be in the squad tomorrow: “They’ve been reintegrated into training this week all of them (Tomi, Vieira, ESR). Some of them will be in the squad tomorrow.”

The Spaniard then added that Kieran Tierney is in perfect condition: “He played 15/20 mins last week and did really well. He looks in perfect condition now and ready to go.”

Arsenal vs Leicester City

Unlike 2021/22, Arsenal got the current campaign off to a bright start.

Mikel Arteta’s side beat Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season and looked the much better side on the day.

The Foxes were 2-0 up last weekend vs Brentford, but went on to draw the game 2-2. They are also likely to lose key defender Wesley Fofana very soon and also have a dismal record vs Arsenal.

Leicester have lost their last three meetings with the Gunners by a scoreline of 1-7.
