Arsenal began 2022/23 looking to finally return to the Champions League after missing out by just a few points last season.
However, after eight games of the campaign, Arsenal are seemingly aiming much higher.
The Gunners are top of the Premier League with 21 points and even if Manchester City win on Sunday vs Manchester United, Arsenal will still be a point clear atop of the division.
Arsenal’s latest win came against Tottenham on Saturday. Spurs were unbeaten in the league heading into the match and would have overtaken Arsenal with a win.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side dominated the tie and came away with a 3-1 victory.
The Arsenal boss had this to say on the result:
In his post-match press conference, the Spaniard was also asked if Arsenal are now in the Premier League title race.
Arteta, though, was keen to play down expectations:
“I’ll leave that to you guys honestly. We just started and we’re really happy with where we are. We understand that you can’t control because emotion is related. The table says what it says and we don’t look at that.”
