Mason Mount has been full of praise for Chelsea’s Timo Werner this past weekend after the 26-year-old put in another solid shift for the Blues vs Crystal Palace.
Werner had been the latest in a long line of quality forwards to move to Stamford Bridge and lose their edge.
However, in the last week or so, Werner appears to be finally finding his feet in England.
Werner scored a brace in Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Southampton on the 9th of April.
The former RB Leipzig forward then provided one goal and one assist as Chelsea beat Real Madrid 3-2 in the Champions League.

Mount on Werner
And on Sunday, Werner provided one assist – he really should have had two, but Romelu Lukaku missed an easy chance – in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace.
“He’s been brilliant since he came in at Southampton and then in Madrid,” Mount said on Werner via the Chelsea website.
“You can see he’s full of energy. In the second half there was a moment where he missed a chance but then me and Jorginho were laughing on the bench because he sprinted all the way back to the halfway line and made a tackle.
“That’s what we’re all about. He gives everything so I’m very pleased for him. He got me a little assist, could have had another one and he could have had a couple of goals as well. He’s done so well the past couple of games.”
